Barrow upon Trent, a small, rural commuter parish close to Derby was, until the 1950s mainly a farming community, with cottages built for those working in large houses such as The Manor House and The Hall.
The project will be a community based project encompassing the Church, the school and the community.
The aim is to rediscover the identity of the parish, research its history and heritage, and link it with the present.
All sections and all age groups of the community will be involved; training to interview, record and archive evidence and the results will be published and displayed.
